I think marine mammals are fascinating. Mammals evolved on land breathing air (🫁 ), and yet some of them went BACK into the water and evolved into the amazing assortment of marine mammals we have today.
While researching different animals to include on this list I was surprised to learn that polar bears are considered marine mammals. 🐻❄️ And this is because of the vast distances they swim between land and blocks of floating ice in the Arctic. (Reference: Marine Mammal Commission)
