Interesting Note: The term “pachyderm” which is Greek for thick skin was previously used to group animals like elephants, rhinos and hippos into one biological group. But we now know that these animals are not in the same taxonomical group. The word pachyderm is still used sometimes to describe elephants, it just isn’t a scientific word. (The San Diego Zoo has an article about this.)
